The following discussion is intended
to give you a brief overview of your new home purchasing options if you are
considering or have decided to build a new home. New homebuyers basically,
have three options to consider in obtaining a new home.
either finished or under
construction by a builder or investor. These homes tend to be expensive for
the simple reason that the homes are priced at what ever, the market will
bear and most times it is much higher than actual construction cost plus a
reasonable mark-up. Spec builders have to price these homes this way to
cover their costs and overhead plus, the interest and insurance cost of
possibility setting on the home for a long period of time.
to build your
new home on site from the ground up with materials delivered to the jobsite.
We agree that this method of construction has its place. if, money is no
object and your mind is closed to any other options, than, this is probably
the way to go. But, the fact is that, time has passed on this method of home
construction in the low to medium price range (100,000 to 250,000). (See the
discussion in why Modular)
The
third option is of course Modular Construction.
This option is far and away the best option that will give you the most
value for your investment dollar, the best quality in construction and the
shortest construction time, just, to mention a few reasons why. Again we ask
you to read the discussion on "Why Modular" to give you the an overview of
why modular construction is the fastest growing method of residential
construction today.
